A while back, I posted a piece on Frank Ocean…
more so the surface of his general act of courage, “Coming out”.
This go round, I wanted to get a little more intimate with you all, probing beneath the surface.
I’ll be as brief as possible.
*Ahem*
We are all IN this world, not of it, not “from” here. With that being said, we are all on a quest that no matter how much it seems to be in the outer world, it is happening… inside. Finding who we are, discovering where we have come from and where and who, in this we want to be. Often I ask myself, is that a choice? Do we mold ourselves or do we find who we actually are?
There is not one person on this very trail who can confidently provide an “answer” to that. Nonetheless, rebuttal and opinions are expected.
Just as much as those are opinions, I believe much of what we feel is “right” or “wrong”, keyword being “FEEL”, is a moral conviction embedded within in our Spirits.
Frank Ocean and countless others have fell upon that very whisper finding their truth; who is anyone to tell them what THEY feel? Whether we, the commentators, agree or not… is just that. How fair and whole-hearted is it to vow that they are any less humane than any of us who live a different life style?
Growing up, and still, to this day, I have never been fond of firearms. The look, the feel, the purpose… no part of it. Once, a thought crossed my mind questioning their existence, considering how powerless people come behind their triggers. Relying only on the damage the gun can offer and not themselves. Then, I mustered up the courage to think that The Source, God(s), whichever you refer to y(our) Creator, may have put them here. Put, in a sense that just as we were given life, we were given free-will. Would such a great and Infinite energy have allowed ANYthing or being to come into existence (through our creation), if it knew it were not for our greater-good, some purpose rather? If you have faith in all of The Infinite’s doings in the life of yours and others, is it unruly to believe that NOTHING so wrong or “sinful” would exist without it’s acknowledgement? Sexual Orientation, Firearms, Genocide, and many other things people FEEL are “wrong”.
Take a minute to re-evaluate things from the root-up.
How much of your beliefs are YOUR beliefs?, original in thought and manifestation.
I salute anyone with the courage to boast the whispers of their Spirits…
be it gay, lesbian, transgender or… you.
